Our Family

Kathy’s Family

I grew-up in a very loving home with my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles around me. I have one sibling who is a year younger than me. My parents, sister and I really enjoyed spending time together.

My mom and dad were very involved in our lives and made sure we had everything to grow, be curious and learn about life.

They both worked hard so my sister and I could become happy, responsible adults. We had piano and guitar lessons, sang in our church choir, painted, skied, were always outside playing with friends and really enjoyed our childhood.

We had aunts and uncles living as close as across the street and loads of cousins who became our best, best friends. We're all still very close to one another and love getting together. There are lots of little ones in the family too so, if we're blessed and able to adopt, this child will have lots of instant cousin-friends!

My family is one of the most important facets of my life and while some of them are gone now, I'll always smile at the wonderful memories I have of my childhood, adolescence and adulthood.

I attribute my success and happiness in life to their support, love and encouragement and am so grateful for them all. Most importantly, I hope to pass on the values instilled by my parents and family to a child that will one day be part of our family.

My family has shaped my life in so many ways.

Jimmy’s Family

I grew up with an amazing family. Unfortunately, my dad passed away when I was just 3 years old. My mom dedicated her life to raising me and my 3 older brothers. My aunts, uncles and grandparents were all always there to make up for that void of losing our dad.

While many in that situation would feel like life wasn't fair, I feel that I was blessed to have the mother, brothers, and extended family that I've had.

We are all incredibly close. Family is at the center of who we are and where our priorities always are. Now, the next generation is upon us (I have three nieces and a nephew). They are all amazing. We just found out that another baby is on the way, so I’ll be an uncle again. We are hoping that a successful adoption will happen soon to add yet another little one to the posse!
